This group started in May 2007 and is still going strong. We encourage members to pair up to organise and lead at least one trip themselves each year although this isn’t obligatory.
We meet on the first Tuesday of the month and enjoy exploring London, mostly on foot, making suitable breaks for refreshments. We normally leave the district at about 9:15 or 9:30 am, travelling by train, usually to Waterloo, returning between four and five pm. We might pay short visits to buildings of interest, such as churches, on our way or sometimes we might take time to visit a museum, particularly if it is raining. Usually, expenses are our rail fares and refreshments.
We have explored many parts of London, from Docklands to Chiswick, Alexandra Palace to Blackheath, with lots in between but we still seem to find new and interesting places. Walks are quite easy, usually up to about three miles in length.
