The group started in November 2007 because Book Club 1 was full and there was a waiting list.
We meet in members’ houses and enjoy discussions on the current book we have read as well as sharing ideas on future books to choose. Enough copies of books for all our members are requested from, and provided by, Leatherhead Library where the librarians are excellent at supplying our choice of books, even if they are current best sellers.
A wide range of novels have been selected by the group, from modern to classics, “On Chesil Beach” and “Purple Hibiscus” to “Emma” and “North and South”. We also read biographies and autobiographies.
